Danvers, incorporated in 1752, is a New England town in Essex County, Massachusetts located on the Danvers River about 20 miles northeast of Boston. Its population was 27,558 at the 2017 census. Originally known as Salem Village, the town is most widely known for its association with the 1692 Salem witch trials.
